About ECPDA

The Erewash Canal Preservation and Development Association is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) managed by a group of trustees. Our aim is to make the Erewash Canal a pleasant place to be for boaters and visitors alike.

ECP&DA have been awarded the Green Flag status for two consecutive years 2019 & 2020 for their work with CRT on the Erewash Canal corridor. More information ...

Langley Mill Volunteers

A group of member volunteers meet every Friday at Langley Mill and working with the local Canal and River Trust (CRT) ensure that the locks are operational, rubbish is cleared from the canal and collected from the towpath on a regular basis.

The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities.

Lock Cottage Volunteers

We also hold regular Open Days at the Sandiacre Lock cottage. Visitors can have a step back in time experience; in colder weather there is always a cosy open fire.

Whatever the weather cups of tea/soft drinks and cake are available to visitors for a small donation.

Our Open Days ar the third Sunday every month plus bank Holidays. Open day calendar...
